Filling out a PDF that has no editable form fields, adding a note in the margin, labeling a chart — these all call for inserting brand-new text into blank space on the page, rather than editing what's already there.
Steps
- Open LocalPDF and load your PDF.
- Click the "Text" tool in the top toolbar.
- Click wherever on the page you want to add text — an editable text box appears.
- Type your content.
- Adjust size (the number input) and color (the color swatch) from the top toolbar — either before typing or after selecting existing text.
- Click outside the text box to confirm; the text stays on the page. Drag the box to reposition it if needed.
- Click "Download" when you're done.
About typing non-Latin text
Just type it directly — no extra setup needed. On export, whatever characters you actually used get embedded into the PDF automatically, so there's no risk of boxes or garbled text, and the file size doesn't grow much since only the characters actually used are embedded.
